Number of Years Coaching Experience:

9 years (fourth year at March Kanata Skating Club)

Philosophy:

My coaching philosophy is to share my love of figure skating with all skaters in my care. It is through modelling that we pass on the love of the sport as well as the skills of the sport. I strive to give each skater the skills and opportunities they need to succeed by designing structured individualized plans. It is most important to foster happy and healthy individuals both on and off the ice as many of the lessons learned on the ice translate to their lives off the ice. Building a team mentality within the club for all skaters to feel supported by their peers is essential as figure skating involves both ups and downs. Finally, I acknowledge the successes and triumphs of each skater as they overcome challenges. It is evident that sport builds character and gives skaters the ability to express themselves in a new way. I am so proud to be a part a sport that enables those involved to shine.
